With sustainability and conservation at the forefront of everyone’s minds I decided to draw this male orangutan. These magnificent creatures were here before us, however if we carry on destroying their environment for our own purposes then I fear their days are sadly numbered. I wanted to capture the feeling of him gazing wistfully in the summer breeze as he surveyed the remainder of his ever diminishing habitat. The survival of their species is very much in our hands. Can we find a sustainable alternative to Palm Oil and save these wonderful primates from extinction? Drawn on A4 Bristol Board with a technical pencil, tortillon and Tombow eraser.

Keep up the good work, dude! 🙂
I’m not anywhere near as good as you with a pencil, LOL!
